3 beranak, pembantu rumah terbunuh dalam kebakaran

IPOH - Tiga sekeluarga bersama seorang pembantu rumah maut dalam kebakaran di Assam Kumbang di sini selepas pulang bercuti selama dua hari.

Kejadian kira-kira jam 12 tengah malam tadi itu, Mohd Hakimi Zubair, 40; isterinya, Leila Sahak, 40; anak bongsu, Ahmad Faris Mohd Hakimi, 3, dan pembantu rumah, Rizki, 40, meninggal dunia dipercayai selepas terperangkap dan lemas akibat asap tebal.

Hakimi merupakan seorang akauntan dengan Royal Bank of Scotland di Kuala Lumpur manakala isterinya pakar IT.

Kesemua mereka yang terkorban berada di tingkat atas rumah itu ketika kejadian berlaku sebelum dipercayai lemas akibat asap yang tebal.

Dalam pada itu, Ketua Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Taiping Hasna Rashid dipetik Bernama berkata, pihaknya menerima panggilan memaklumkan kebakaran di No 299, Lorong 2, Jalan Dato Seri Ahmad, Taman Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan di Assam Kumbang di sini pada 12.24 tengah malam.

"Empat mangsa yang berada di tingkat atas maut dipercayai akibat lemas. Seorang mangsa ditemui di pintu keluar menuju ke balkoni rumah manakala tiga mangsa yang lain  ditemui di bilik tidur utama. Ketika pihak kami tiba, rumah itu sudah 50 peratus terbakar.

Kebakaran berlaku bermula di bahagian tingkat atas rumah," katanya. - SH

TAIPING: A couple, their youngest child and a maid were killed in a pre-dawn fire at a double-storey bungalow in Taman Pegawai Kanan, Assam Kumbang here Tuesday.

Mohd Hakimi Zubair Puteh, 40, a chartered accountant with the Royal Bank of Scotland, his wife IT expert Leila Sahak, 40, and three-year-old Ahmad Fariz Mohd Hakimi, and the maid, known only as Risky, 40 were sleeping on the second floor of the bungalow during the fire.

All of them were trapped on the floor and were believed to have died of suffocation due to the smoke.
Mohd Hakimi's three other children, Lokman, 13, Ain Najwa, 11 and Azad, 8, who were sleeping downstairs escaped the fire together with his father, Zubair Puteh, 73.

Zubair said his son and his family came to visit him during the Deepavali holidays and were planning to return home later.
Taiping Fire and Rescue chief Hasna Rashid said they received a call on the fire at 12.24am.
"The four victims who were on the top floor are believed to have suffocated to death.

"One of the victims was found at the exit door to a balcony while the three others in the master bedroom.
"When firemen arrived, almost half the bungalow was in flames. The fire started at the upper floor, " he said. - TStar

TAIPING: Three family members and their Indonesian maid died in a fire that razed a double-storey house in Assam Kumbang here at 12.24 am today.

The dead were identified as 40-year old Mohd Hakimi Zubair who was a director at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Kuala Lumpur, his wife, Leila Sahak, 40,  their three-year old son Ahmad Faris and their Indonesian maid, Rizki from Sumatera.
 
Mohd Hakimi's father, Zubair Puteh said his son was sleeping in the master bedroom on the upper floor with his wife and their youngest child at the time of the 
incident.
 
The couple's three other children Lokman Hafiz, 13, Ain Najwa, 11 and Aizad Fahmi, 8, who were sleeping at the lower level of the house were unhurt.
 
He said the maid was sleeping in another room at the same floor. Zubair said Mohd Hakimi is scheduled to fly to Ireland this Saturday for work. - NST
